More About Lisa
I try to lead a balanced life. So other than work, I enjoy paddling canoe, hiking, spending time with friends, and animals. I have always been known as a dedicated and determined athlete. Prior to canoe paddling, I was a short distance swimmer at the University of Washington. For me, athletics brings a place of connection, hard work, and inspiration. I am passionate about working with athletes of all ages and individuals with other high performing positions where the expectation to be perfect has led to anxiety, fawning, freezing, disordered eating, and a loss of identity.
Welcome to your journey
Hi! My name is Lisa and I am a licensed mental health clinician located in Georgetown, Seattle. I specialize in certified expansive and trauma-informed brainspotting with teens and adults. I also have a passion for working with children and am currently in a year-long course at Antioch to further my education towards becoming a registered play therapist. I use an integrative approach to play therapy, stemming from child-centered play therapy.
My intention is to work with you through a collaborative therapeutic partnership to better understand yourself (or your child), change old habits, and progress on the path to being the person you want to be. I meet the client where they are at; we work together to set goals; and we walk the journey together over the course of time.
There is nothing one needs to do to “be ready” for a session. One might feel like they don’t know what to talk about or if therapy is really something that can be supportive to you or your family. This can be totally normal. You might know you want something to change but you are not quite sure what that is yet. Through different methods, we can work through identified feelings, sensations, and/or memories that are challenging, distressing, or even exciting to clear the blocks and expand your possibilities.
